Planning the Perfect Kitchen

The kitchen is the most important room in any house, and it takes quite a bit of thought to get it just the way you want it. It is the heart of every home, where family and visitors come together.

Before you visit us at Bryson Kitchens, it’s important you try and sketch up a few layouts yourself, after all, you are going to be using the kitchen yourself every day, so it’s important that you include your requirements and what works best for you and your family. You need something that is going to suit the way you live but also looks beautiful along with been the central hub of the home. At this point, it’s worth considering which type of appliances you would like to incorporate into your kitchen and the floor space available for their installation.

Also from a practical perspective how do you want your new kitchen to function? What don’t you like about your existing kitchen? What other features would you like to incorporate? Larders are an excellent way to store items, but they can take up valuable workspace. Every kitchen design is different depending on the requirements of a particular family or individual even though the available space can be the same. Measure out the space available and try and come up with some different options.

This will be time well spent as even though you might not have solved all the problems you have given our designers a platform to take the design to the next level. The designer can then help you with everything from choosing styles and materials to fixtures and fittings. When the design is finalised, we will measure on-site to ensure it fits perfectly into your space.

Budgeting

Knowing how much you have to spend is an essential part of the planning process. Your budget can be broken down into three categories:

  •  Cabinets
  •  Appliances
  •  Worksurfaces

These three fundamental categories will determine how your budget gets spent. We will always try and work within your budget and give you the best value for money. The more features or aesthetically beautiful an appliance is, the more expensive it is. However, it is worth mentioning, for example, self-cleaning ovens are a fantastic invention, so sometimes a few extra bob spent can make life a lot easier especially if you’re fond of cooking. Worktops will define your kitchen, but it can often stretch the budget as granite and quartz can run into the thousands. Ask your designer about the different worktop options that will suit your needs and are equally as stunning when installed. We have lots of ways of making your budget stretch.
